For years, my go-to powder has been Rimmel’s Stay Matte Pressed Powder – a respectable and reliable staple in my makeup bag, and at only £3.99 a pop. Not bad. I’d not really dabbled in any other powder foundations as I’d normally just buy the Rimmel powder in translucent to simply reduce shine instead of add […]
I bought this after I decided I needed a lighter foundation for summer, with more sun protection. This does the job perfectly, with a sheer, but buildable coverage, that adjusts to my skin tone beautifully. From the Boots website, here’s what we know about it: “Suncream to help protect the skin. Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil […]
My go-to primer for the past few months has been e.l.f.’s Mineral Infused Face Primer (£6.95) in green for colour correcting. I ran out recently, so I popped into the Cardiff e.l.f store last weekend to pick up a new bottle. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the green one, which I love because it’s so silky and […]
Yet another product I got as part of a free gift set (what? I like free gifts, stop judging me!). Clinique do some particularly good free gifts, and this one included a mascara, a chubby stick, some skincare products, eyeshadows, all nestled in a beautiful makeup bag *foams at the mouth*. My favourite product by […]
Primers are not a new thing; they’ve been out for a few years now, but I’m still not sure how I feel about them. Some of them can leave skin feeling lovely and smooth, a perfect base for foundation, but then halfway through the day, my makeup has slid off, or settled into every crease […]
I got this as part of a free gift set when I bought 2 other Clinique products (anyone else absolutely love these free gifts? Go to Debenhams, John Lewis, or Boots and you’re guaranteed to find a great free gift offer) and I absolutely love it! I’ve never been big on mascara; I always used […]
I got this after reading tons of blogs in order to find a concealer which wouldn’t crease under my eyes or look powdery and caked on. The general consensus was that this concealer is the one of the best; it was a toss up between this and MAC Pro Longwear, but seeing as I was buying a bottle of NARS Sheer Glow at the same time, I thought it made sense to buy the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer to accompany it.
Thanks to my ultra-sensitive skin, I’ve always struggled to find a makeup remover that’s both gentle and effective. That’s why I got super excited when I picked up Garnier’s Simply Essentials Soothing 2 in 1 Makeup Remover, and discovered it didn’t upset my skin in the slightest, and removed most of my stubborn mascara. But we’ll get to that later…
I got this as part of a free gift when buying some other stuff from Estee Lauder. How cool is the packaging? It looks awesome in my makeup bag. And it’s such a lovely little blush. It’s the perfect shade for all year round – a lovely, slightly coraly pink, which is warm enough for summer skin, but pink enough for winter when I’m rocking the pale and interesting look. It’s pretty pigmented, so you only need a light hand, but it’s not as pigmented as some other blushes (NARS, I’m looking at you), so you don’t need to worry about it being hard to blend if you put a little too much on your brush. No sign of clown cheeks here!
I feel that Orgasm gets so much hype and fanfare it overshadows all the other wonderful colours NARS has in its blush range. By all means, if you’re looking to try out NARS blushers and don’t know what colour will suit you, Orgasm is a great all-rounder and is pretty universal in terms of suitability, […]
